.1 What are the risks of enrolling at
an unregistered Child Care Centre?
An unregistered Child Care Centre may not have complied with the minimum standards under the Child Care Centre Act 1984 (Rev 2007) and monitored by JKM that includes checks on infrastructure safety, quality of care, qualifications of staff and nutritional standards. Enrolling in an unregistered Child Care Centre may therefore put your child at risk.

3 What is the difference between a
registered Child Care centre and a
registered Child Care centre in a
kindergarten or Montessori Centre?
A registered Care Center caters for the caring of children from above 4 years to 18 years while a Kindergarten or Preschool is strictly for children 4 -6 years. Child Care Centres are required to implement the PERMATA Curriculum but may enhance with their own such as Montessori, Reggio Emilio, Islamic and others.
4 What is the best curriculum for my child ?
The best curriculum is one that is child centred and encourages lots of hands on developmentally age appropriate activities through play both indoors and outdoors. Interactions in small and big groups with positive communications is equally important for socio emotional development. Curriculums by whatever names must focus on the holistic development of children and uphold the wellbeing, health and safety of children.
5 What is the PERMATA Curriculum ?
The PERMATA Curriculum is the national Curriculum for Child Care Centers. PERMATA Child Care Centres were founded in 2007 by YABhg. Datin Paduka Seri Hjh. Rosmah Mansor, wife of the sixth Prime Minister of Malaysia. The opinions of educators, academics, physicians, and early childhood experts were sought to create a holistic and well-balanced program that seeks to identify, nurture and develop children physically, mentally and intellectually through a standardised curriculum, regulated training and established infrastructure. The PERMATA Curriculum emphasises a fun experiential learning experience modeled after developed countries such as UK, France, USA, Australia and New Zealand.

6 Why is high quality Child Care important for my child ?
Early Childhood Care and Education is defined as the period from conception through eight years of age.
The earliest years of a child’s life are critical. These years determine a child’s survival and development in life, and lay the foundations for her/ his learning and holistic development. It is during the early years that children develop the cognitive, physical, social and emotional skills that they need to succeed in life.
These early experiences are largely determined by supportive family and community care practices, proper nutrition and health care, learning opportunities, which in turn are dependent on enabling policies and investments for young children and families. ECCE positively impacts attendance, retention, and learning of children in elementary and higher education.
7 What is Talian KASIH and Childline 15999?
Talian KASIH, formerly known as Talian Nur is a help and counseling hotline under the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development. Talian KASIH can be reached by dialing 15999 by the public for welfare assistance and services, issues of domestic abuse and family issues .Calls related to children and child abuse are escalated immediately to Childline, a 24 hour child helpline managed by the Department of Social Welfare.
